Welcome to Beetley Simmentals

About us:

Welcome to Beetley Simmentals, we have been sucessfully showing and breeding Simmentals since 1988. Our herd has grown over the years with Female purchases coming from the Groveland, Curlieu, Milnafua, Sterling, Skerrington and Dirnanean herds.

Our first stock bull came in the form of Wroxall Conquest he had a very good temperment and left some very nice cows.

Next was another Wroxall bull this time Wroxall Fabian (Pictured) Fabian was a very successful show bull and left some nice big stretchy cows some of which are still in the herd today.

Pennance Hottentot was our next bull after we purchased him when we was 3rd placed at the Royal show in 1998. He left a great legacy of cattle of many are still among the top cows in the herd including Beetley Louise (Pictured) of whom we consider the top breeding cow within the herd.

At the famous Milnafua dispersal sale we purchased our next bull as a calf at foot out of Milnafua Electra who bred some top females in her time at Beetley. Kasper was our herd sire for a number of years leaving some very correct and thick cattle, including Beetley Wagtail the Female Champion at Carlisle show and Sale November 2010 who has moved on to Clydeside Simmentals.

In 2003 we purchased Atlow Noble from David Donnelly. He was possibly the best bull we ever had breeding extremely powerful, thick and stretchy cattle. Noble bred Beetley Tamzin who went on to win many prizes in the show ring including the Res Supreme Champion at the National Simmental Show in 2008. He was also a very prolific show winner himself winning the Interbreed Male Championship at the Royal Norfolk Show 2003.

We then purchased Sterling Rawhide 2nd at the Perth bull sales sadly he only had 3 calfs before an accident cut his working life short.

Our next herd sire once again came from Wroxall Simmentals this time it was Wroxall Tracker, he was a dark red bull bull with plenty of growth, this showed in his figures as he is a 200 and 400 day Trait leader.

Heathbrow Vulcan (Pictured) joined our sire line up after he was purchased from D & L Sapsed, he was sired by Hockenhull Kramer and out of a Darsham cow purchased at the Darsham dispersal sale. He left some very stylish and well muscled calfs.

Multiple show winner Boars Head Volcano (ET) was purchased after we were so impressed by him as a yearling bull on the show circuit, we showed him as a 2 year old at the Royal Norfolk were he took the Res Supreme Championship and the Male Championship as well, sadly he only produced five calfs all of which have exceptional quality.

In April 2010 we purchased another bull from D & L Sapsed this time Heathbrow Viscount (P) he is out of Darsham Real Treasure who was purchased for 13000gns by David and Lesley at the Darsham Dispersal sale and is out of multiple Royal show winner Darsham Kit-Kat.

At the October 2010 Stirling bull sales we purchased 2nd prized bull Drumsleed Amadeus 09  (Pictured) for 7500gns he is sired by Hockenhull Matthew and out of a Beeches Kestrel cow. He has a fantastic temperment, muscling and length. His first calfs are now on the ground and show great promise!

In February 2011 we purchased two new stunning Dirnanean hefiers; Abba A9 and Arve A4 (P)

In 2009 William established his High House Simmental herd after he aquired Beetley Vivian a Jan 2007 Milnafua Kasper daughter from us.
